Looking around me I see the bigger pictures. And I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.

Begging in Malaysia

Begging in Kuala Lumpur. This shouldn't happen in rich Malaysia.

See at the far corner, a lady sitting by the brownish round pillar, she is also begging. To make it worse she has a small child with her (not seen in this picture). They are probably foreigners, but still - how is this allowed?

sex blogs

Enough of sex

Surfing the blogs many time I tripped on sex sites, explicit sex act descriptions and explicit photoes. I have to be very careful when I surf the Net.

Tok Kenali?

They say that this is the likeness of the late Tok Kenali of Kelantan. Can anyone say for sure?

Selling odds and ends.

Saturday morning, near the Kuantan Town Padang, people selling odds and ends. There was this man trying to convince the men to buy stuff to make them strong, aching muscles smoothed out and weak muscles useful again. And the concoctions and animals parts that he had for show.

Feeding pidgeons

An Indian man feeding pidgeons in front of his textile shop in the morning in Kuantan. Probably hoping for good luck and good sales.

A busy banking hall in Kuala Lumpur where customers feed machines to pay back their loans and credit cards balances; busy even during weekends. People must owe the Bank aplenty!

Tourists

Lately we seems to attract a lot of tourists to Malaysia. Mostly from the East such as China, Japan, Korea and the Indo-Pakistan regions. At other time from the Middle East. But here we see a European couple (not sure but they are whites) or probably US or Aussie/NZ or from any Caucausian majority people country. Buying cameras I observed.

4D

He sells 4D results on the street of Kuantan, Malaysia. They come out a dusk, when the results are just out, they roam the street and some position themselves at strategic places where people can stop and buy these results and some walks the street shouting their wares. They are both males and females. I don't know how much they charge (probably RM 1.00 per piece of paper and hand written I suppose - I don't know as I have never bought them). 4D is a gambling in numbers and very popular in Kuantan where there are many gambling shop houses such as TOTO, 4D and Magnum. I don't really understand them. The funny thing is that Malaysia is supposed to be a Muslim country but gambling seems to be a hobby of the population, except in the States of Kelantan and Tregganu where 4D or similar is 'haram' (forbidden in Islamic sense). Why? Kelantan is ruled by a Muslim Party and Trengganu has just shed its Muslim Party rule.

Street stalls

Just a row of street stalls on the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur. You can get cheap meals here, but the hygiene is questionable. A dying breed, as Kuala Lumpur gets more modernised.
