Why are all the ladies cover their head..is it a cultural things.

A god question. Good Muslim women are required to cover their hair, an 'aurat'. Don't ask me the Koraanic verse and the Hadiths on it. In theory they can only reveal their feet and their hands. How many really follow the rules? Covering their heads is not cultural, its a religious requirements. If that answers your question.
But I never ask why Nuns cover their heads, Friars wear robes, Budhist priests wear yellow or brown robes, Lady Budhist priest shave their hair, Hindu priest wear loin cloth, and they put patches of white on their forehead, why good Jew men wear skull caps, and why some good Jew wear black clothings with brim hats and carry beads........why Chettiar carry umbrellas, why wear black at Christians funeral, why Budhists wear black and cry aloud during funerals, why they have drums and thimbles baanging away during such funerals. They all have reasons and beliefs and I respect their beliefs without asking too many questions.
But of course if you want to know more about Islam and their ways, I will always answer you to the best of my ability.
